A private contractors laptop containing confidential information on 652 clients of the state Department of Social and Health Services was stolen from Gig Harbor and later recovered at a pawn shop, the department announced Friday. Officials said the thieves apparently did not break the security measures and access the files, which includes health information. The affected clients were receiving services from the departments Economic Services Administration and have been notified of the theft via letter. (English)
